JayBird Byrne is a Queensland‑based instrumental guitarist widely recognised for her talent, precision, and fierce musical instinct. As an Autistic individual, she describes music as “a translator — a way to connect with myself and others, giving me a voice I wouldn’t otherwise have.” This emotional clarity, combined with her technical ability, allows her to captivate audiences with performances defined by spirit, intensity, and genuine connection.
Her growing reputation is supported by endorsements from Ibanez, Boss/Roland, and Elixir Strings, acknowledging both her skill and her emerging influence in the guitar world. Inspired by legends such as Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani, JayBird has developed a distinctive tone shaped by modern prog‑rock and metal guitar — a sound that is already uniquely her own.
JayBird’s original music has earned international recognition. Her debut single Convergence received an Honorable Mention in the Teen category of the 2024 International Songwriting Competition (ISC), and The Storm was awarded Runner‑Up in the 2025 Unsigned Only Music Awards. Her compositions feature complex, multi‑layered guitar arrangements that highlight both her individuality and her evolving musical voice.
She is currently working on her first EP, Falling Upwards, a collection of instrumental pieces where she uses her guitar as her voice — offering insight into her world, her identity, and the emotional landscape she expresses through sound. Alongside her writing, JayBird continues to refine “all things guitar,” from self‑production to instrument maintenance and performance optimisation, embodying the complete package of a modern guitarist whose artistry extends far beyond prodigious youth.
