Upcoming EP
Dog Tales
Dogs are a big part of my life. They are my constant. In this EP, I have tried to capture all my dogs' personalities, peculiarities and quirks. As an instrumental guitarist, I (like my dog friends) have no voice, so I have used my guitar to tell the tales of all the dogs that have touched my life. I hope that I have done my buddies credit! Thank you to my guitar mentor Simon Gardner, not only for your songwriting guidance and expertise on this EP, but also for giving me the confidence to follow on from Pups at Work and inspiring the whole concept of an EP dedicated to my second greatest love, my dogs (and their tales!).
This EP will feature the following songs:
Pups at work - RELEASEd 7 July 23
'Pups at Work' is all of my dog training experiences expressed as an instrumental rock guitar song. The song's progressive rock feel represents the training and unpredictability of the ‘pups at work’. According to my pup, it is: "Dog training, but on my human's guitar."

The WOLF - RELEASED 22 Sept 23
Jackman is a wolf-like German Shepherd with unlimited energy who simply wants to run free. I use my guitar instead of Jackman’s howl in this song to tell his stories. This song is a reincarnation of his perks, quirks and totally unique personality. The rapid and consistent tempo represents his heartbeat, the whammy bar noises represent his howling, and the first solo simulates his sharp teeth tearing through anything you value. I do hope he settles down. Hopefully, my song sets him up for that with a soft section that feels like he grows wise and becomes a mentor to other young dogs just as naughty as him.

GOLDEN LOVE - COMING SOON!
Golden Love is a story about my golden retriever, my best friend, Bosco. The early part of the song, with its simple melody, catchy riff and verse, depicts the start of his life when he was content and happy to love all around him and jump and play. The song's heart is the solo, where he was injured and needed a long rest period to recover. I feel that the simplicity of the solo is powerful as it emphasises his actual state of mind as he recovered, with each note reflecting Bosco’s thoughts at that time. When you are in pain, it feels as though time ticks slower, and the solo reflects that. The solo then moves to a faster tempo and happier theme, where my Bosco is happy and running again on the rainbow bridge. Miss you buddy boy.

Winnie's Way - COMING SOON!
In this song, I tried to describe this somewhat confusing medieval king (aka my Cavalier Winnie) and his journey through life. In some sections of the song, I imagine him sitting on his purple silk throne on the rainbow bridge, having the time of his life with 20+ servants running after him. However, sometimes, I imagine him beheading those servants because they did not adjust his pillow just so. He was a dog of extremes, and every day of his life was a chapter in a storybook. This song is that storybook of extremes told in musical verses.

Convergence - released 3 Oct 2022
The word convergence has a lot of meaning to me.
I am neurodivergent, so I have great difficulty expressing my own emotions. Music lets me express myself in ways I can’t through words. Music is like a light guiding me through a dark path. The dark path is life and the light is music. I called this song Convergence because it shows my emotions and my guitar coming together in a song that helped me express how I feel. So naturally, there is a lot of variation in this song, but the parts just fit, like a jigsaw puzzle.
